    1. FIRE EXTINGUISHER + FIRST AID A fire extinguisher can be found in the cabinet underneath the kitchen sink. The First Aid Kit can be found in the left front door entryway cabinet. In an emergency, call 911.

    2. DRINKING WATER All water in the house is supplied by a well, and filtered by reverse osmosis. This means that it is clean and safe to drink. We’ve provided refillable water bottles to use during your stay.

    3. PROVISIONS Please help yourself to the pantry, and any beverages, s’mores supplies, condiments, coffee, snacks or treats. They are complimentary for consumption during your stay.

    4. BEAR + WILDLIFE SAFETY Avoid unsafe encounters with the black bears, raccoons, foxes, and others who share the property by never leaving food or garbage outside and always making sure the garbage bin lids are locked. Children exploring the woods especially should be aware of possible bear dens. It is safest to stay in the clear areas of the property

    5. CONCRETE FLOORS ARE SLIPPERY Even when you aren’t coming in wet, polished concrete can become slippery when the indoor humidity or condensation is too high. On humid days, it’s best to keep the doors and windows closed.

    6. INSECTS + RODENTS The property is regularly professionally treated with pet-safe environmentally-safe pesticides. This greatly reduces the presence of wasps, ticks and mosquitos, but unaffected insects like spiders and ants are thriving. PLEASE KEEP SCREENS CLOSED and food stored in airtight containers or in the refrigerator. Please report hazardous insect or rodent activity such as mice inside the home, nests or hives in or on the house, so that we can have them professionally removed immediately. It is not safe to attempt to remove them yourself.

    7. PEOPLE YOU MAY ENCOUNTER Your stay may coincide with a garbage pickup, pool cleaning, propane delivery, or other regularly required service. These are usually brief, and require no action on your part. We apologize if they cause any temporary disruption.

    8. NO WOOD IN THE DISHWASHER You will find many wood bowls, wood handled pans, and table accessories throughout the home Please feel free to use them, but they must only be hand washed after use.

  • HOW TO USE THE DISHWASHER DRAWER

You probably don’t think you need instructions for running a dishwasher but this one is a little different.

    Things to note:

Pods can be placed under the cutlery basket, not in the liquid door.

    Pod Load

ll of the shelves and dividers are adjustable.

A red light on the rinse aid dispenser means low/empty.

Dry cycle will NOT run if wash is set to “eco” mode.

Be sure “delay start” wasn’t accidentally selected.

NO WOOD IN THE DISHWASHER You will find many wood bowls, wood handled pans, and table accessories throughout the home Please feel free to use them, but they must be hand washed only after use.

  • HOW TO USE THE FIRE PIT

    3. Insert but do not turn the key into the keyhole on the fire bowl.

    4. Hold a lit stick lighter over one of the nozzles on the burner while slowly turning the key to the left. You can remove the lighter once one or more nozzles are throwing flames. For instructions for using the provided black Zippo flex neck lighter, click here. Refill fuel can be found in the inner drawer to the left of the kitchen sink.

    5. Turn the key all the way to the left. The key can be removed or stay in while in use.

  • HOW TO USE THE FIREPLACE

Getting the fire going isn’t the most intuitive process unfortunately but it’s a lovely fire when it’s on.

    1. IGNORE ALL REMOTE BUTTONS EXCEPT THOSE INSTRUCTED HERE.

    2. Press and hold the power button until beeping starts. Release button when the beeps start.

    3. Wait 1-2 minutes as it continues to beep and make funny noises until the LCD screen on the remote shows the temperature and a small pilot flame is lit.

    4. Note the “++” icon on the remote LCD display. Press the “++” button on the remote once. You should hear an instant beep and the thermocoupler should turn on, making the flames bigger. If this doesn’t happen, check the display on the remote again. If the “++” icon is still shown, wait one minute and press the “++” button once more. This should work.

    5. Now you should see no “++” icon on the remote screen and the flames are on full power. It may take 5 minutes more for the flames to reach full color and height.

  • To open the hot tub cover, unbuckle the two front buckles and fold the front half back over the back half leaving the bar in the middle.

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping the Hot Tub mechanics working well by entering only after showering and refraining from using any oils or lotions before entering.

  • The sauna temperature will rise at a rate of about one degree per minute. An ideal temperature may be 140 - 150F. If it is 30 degrees in the sauna, unfortunately you’ll need. to start the heater about 2 hours before you plan to enter.

To start the heater: Open the HUUM App from the house iPad or go to the control dial outside the sauna and set the desired temperature.

When going from the pool or hot tub to the sauna, please use a towel on the benches to protect the wood.

Please feel free to use the provided slippers and spa wraps in the sauna and throughout your stay.

Please use the offered essential oils and sauna essence only when added to your water in the bucket + ladle. Do not apply any products directly to the stones or wood in the sauna.

    Thank you! Happy schvitzing!
